Rivet 1.0.1 Changes

  • Fixed an issue that caused some video files to not appear when sharing a folder.

The Menu

Main Menu

Rivet runs in your menu bar and does not appear in the dock. From the menu you can easily toggle on or off the different types of media or access the Preferences. All playback is controlled from your Xbox 360.


Movies Preferences

Movie Preferences

The Movies preferences allow you to control which video files are displayed. You can allow video files that are in your iTunes or iPhoto libraries to be displayed or specify folders on your hard drive to be displayed. For each folder that you add, all of its subfolders are also added and displayed on your Xbox 360. This feature allows you to organize your video files how you would like to browse them on your Xbox 360.

Photos Preferences

Photos Preferences

The Photos preferences pane allows you to select which of your photo albums from iPhoto are shared. You can also change the quality setting to have Rivet transcode the image to a lower quality setting to allow for faster loading when viewing on your Xbox 360.

The Access Control preferences pane allows you to limit the IP range of the Xbox 360s that may stream media from Rivet..

General Preferences

General Preferences

The General preferences gives you an all in one stop for turning media types on or off. You can also set if you want Rivet to automatically launch when you log in and if your Mac will go to sleep due to idle time.

Music Preferences

Music Preferences

The Music preferences pane allows you to select which of your playlists in iTunes are shared. You can also filter out audio podcasts and set the play count and date played to be updated in iTunes after the song is played on your Xbox 360.




More Photos Preferences

More Photos Preferences

The Photos preferences pane also allows you to set folders to share. These work similar to the shared movie folders and will recreate the folder structure for you allow you to better organize your picture.
